British philosopher, a central figure in founding the CCRU at Warwick in the mid-1990s. He developed a radical strand of accelerationism: the idea that the only way out of capitalism is not to slow it down or resist it, but to accelerate its contradictions to the point of collapse or structural mutation, pushing technology and capital beyond human control. His 1990s writings (posthumously collected in "Fanged Noumena") blend continental philosophy, cyberpunk science fiction, and chaos theory into a deliberately destabilizing prose. After a period of crisis and disappearance from the academic scene, he re-emerged publicly with far-right positions tied to the neoreactionary movement (NRx), breaking from the leftist academic lineage he originally came from.
