Animal Man

The first laboratory where Morrison tests breaking the fourth wall as a narrative weapon. Buddy Baker, a B-list superhero able to absorb animal abilities, gradually discovers he is a drawn character — culminating in a direct confrontation with the author himself inside the page. A direct precursor to the method later radicalized in The Invisibles: fiction that recognizes itself as construct and draws operational power from that recognition.
