XENOMELODY — a melodic structure generated or processed by a non-human system (generative AI, compositional algorithm, procedural synthesis) to the point where it stops imitating the human ear and starts producing patterns the human ear recognizes as music only by extension, not by belonging. It is music following an alien internal logic that the human listener intercepts as signal, not as native language. Unlike simple "electronic music" or "algorithmic music" — categories that still presuppose a human composer steering the system toward a recognizable result — xenomelody manifests when the system itself begins optimizing for criteria with no equivalent in human music theory: information density, noise compression, statistical patterns invisible to an unaugmented ear. The hyperstitional link: a xenomelody, once it spreads, it instructs a future sound. Every time a listener grows accustomed to a non-human pattern, their own perceptual apparatus is slightly reconfigured, widening the space of the "musically acceptable" for the next generation of generative systems.
