Did you know...?
✨ 1. The 1999 album is the debut release of Leyland Kirby under The Caretaker moniker, initially inspired by the ballroom ghost scene in Stanley Kubrick’s film *The Shining*.
✨ 2. Kirby constructed the entire album by looping and heavily processing fragments of 1920s and 30s ballroom dance 78rpm records to evoke a decaying sense of nostalgia.
✨ 3. The record was originally released on Kirby’s own tiny V/Vm Test label in an extremely limited CD run before gaining cult status and being reissued on vinyl years later.
